We have been providing New Englanders with quality geese for over a decade. Lately, we have had more and more inquiries regarding shipping of goslings. As a result, we are now shipping day olds and select older goslings nationwide. We are excited to be adding our support to the preservation of heritage waterfowl.
We started our current waterfowl breeding programs in the spring of 1999 after aquiring our first stock from Holderread's Waterfowl Farm and Preservation Center. This first stock consisted of a pair of gray Saddleback Pomeranian geese and a trio of Magpie ducks. A few years later, the goose breeding program expanded
We added a pair of buff Saddlebacks and greys from a breeder in Minnesota, which added some Canadian blood. We were thrilled to have the Buffs, as the variety is quite rare and there are only a few breeders scattered throughout the country. We took our ducks and geese to fairs and shows and frequently took home prizes. It was a challenge to get the markings on these birds correct, but our flocks grew and improved. In the Spring of 2004, we added the Australian Spotted Duck, a bantam breed descended from a wild Australian species.
Currently, we are working on improving the original consistant characteristics of the Pomeranians. Last spring we also decided to try the relatively new American Blue and American Lavender breeds, which add a dash of fresh color to the flock.
